A Proven Framework For Personal Transformation

We have always been the kind of people who were zealous to grow and gain mastery in our attitudes, actions and relationships. We kept the latest books on our nightstand, in our brief case and on our Kindle.

You could find us perched on the front row at cutting-edge seminars eager to take copious notes. And we set regular times to pour over scripture and pray (and, sometimes, fast) all in an earnest search for personal improvement, spiritual progress, vocational success and relational harmony.

You may have done a few of those things yourself.

Sometimes, the solutions we found worked for awhile. We’d get breakthroughs, gain some new insight.

Then stuff would come up.

And the same old glitches would surface internally, vocationally or relationally. And off we’d go again in search of a better way.

Then, finally, after a lot of years of trial and error in leadership, love, and life we landed on what, for us, has turned out to be a proven framework for lasting personal transformation.

Sounds bold and audacious.

But when something has had that profound of an impact

on you and others and it continues to grow in effectiveness,

you to want to pass it on.

Nothing in life is simple.

But, here’s the quick, at-a-glance look at a framework we now use that can help you significantly reduce feeling stressed, stuck or stale and lead you to greater measures of the life God originally gave you enjoy.

Step #1) Pinpoint what drives your compulsive identity

We all have a driving force inside us, a central steering system in our head, that challenges, accuses, directs, corrects, controls and, generally, bullies us all day long. It consists of the automatic ways we perceive what’s going on outside us and inside us.

We constructed this sense of this “self” as a way to feel safe and significant in the world. We all need a container or shell to grow up in.

But at some point we become over identified with this “idealized me.” And when that happens we can start over protecting, over promoting and over producing this person we’ve come to believe we are.

Several other names for this compulsive self system are your “inner critic,” your old nature or your “false self.”

If we can learn to pinpoint what that system is or where that critic is speaking from, we can free ourselves from an internal slavery that keeps us bound and defeated in important areas of our lives.

If we don’t locate this driver, it’s usually just a matter of time before something starts breaking down, either relationally, professionally, emotionally, physically, financially, or spiritually.

Step #2) Plant yourself in the Source of your true Identity

Your true identity is that part of you that cannot be improved on, expanded, or reduced. It is your God-self and it is the most significant and unchangeable part of who you really are.

We believe learning 1) how to recognize and 2) live out of our true self is the most significant and challenging of all human achievements. There are a number of interchangeable name-tags for our true identity. A few of them are: our created self, our eternal soul, our spirit,or new creation in Christ.

When we live from our true self we are thinking, speaking and acting out from our original, unshakable home in God.

Step #3) Participate in practices to help anchor you at the core of your true identity

The ability to enjoy the life you were born to live comes when you learn to experience yourself right now, settled in peace, in God’s loving presence. Without establishing this critical connection your striving for recognition and relationship will never cease.

What can become transformative for you is when you awaken to a deep intuition that you are already participating in something very good, that Someone else has already initiated, and it is fully happening in you right now, and right now, and right now.

We have learned a number of timeless practices that help keep us anchored in greater and greater degrees during times of great stress, personal conflict, internal doubt, fear or whatever happens to separate you from your experience of God.

In the future we’ll be sharing some of these practices with you in our blog and podcast. But if you’d like them sooner we are sharing a number of them with you in our new softcover edition and audio book edition of: Nothing To Prove: Find the satisfaction & significance you’ve been striving for at the core of your true identity.

These editions of Nothing To Prove will be available for purchase, beginning Tuesday, February 16 @ 10:00am EST, on our website: www.youlivetrue.com or you can join the waiting list by clicking HERE.
