There are few words as powerful as “home.” It can fill your heart… it can make you smile… make you cry… not matter what you age or condition of life.

There’s a longing for Home inside us that NO Home in this world can satisfy.

Why do we long for home?

 Psa 84:1-2  What a beautiful home, God-of-the-Angel-Armies! I’ve always longed to live in a place like this, Always dreamed of a room in your house, where I could sing for joy to God-alive!

Longing for Home= longing for God:

Your true home is where you…

• get your name
• get your identity
• get shaped

Your true home is where you are…

• Welcomed
• Accepted
• Loved
• Celebrated
• Honored
• Nurtured
• Refreshed
• Protected

…all because you are you 

Home is what you don’t have to deserve.

Psa 90:1-2   God, it seems you’ve been our home forever; long before the mountains were born, Long before you brought earth itself to birth, from “once upon a time” to “kingdom come”—you are God. 

 This is the Psalm of Moses who had been ‘homeless’ all his life.

You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you.

Isa 53:6  We’re all like sheep who’ve wandered off and gotten lost. We’ve all done our own thing, gone our own way.
